The South Bay is the region south and west of Los Angeles, stretching from Manhattan Beach through Hermosa Beach to Redondo Beach along the coast, with inland communities including Torrance, Rolling Hills, and Palos Verdes Estates. Redondo Beach itself is the largest city in this coastal strip, with neighborhoods ranging from downtown apartments near the pier and harbor to residential streets with single-family homes, condominiums, and small developments.

The area is known for its year-round temperate climate, with average temperatures in the 60s Fahrenheit and over 300 days of sunshine annually. Many residents enjoy outdoor activities: walking the beach, cycling on coastal paths, attending the farmers market, and gathering in parks and public spaces. The South Bay lifestyle emphasizes access to water, outdoor recreation, and a relaxed but engaged community.

Families who choose to raise children here often do so because of the schools, the outdoor access, and the established community. Life insurance helps ensure that if something happens to a parent, the family can maintain that lifestyle—the house payments, the school choices, and the activities that make life in the South Bay possible.
